Grant Request and Program Proposal for an Information Literacy Program
In LIS 60612 Library Materials and Services for Adults, we were given two assignments requiring the class to prepare a grant requesting funding for a program of our choosing and a program proposal. The assignment aligns with PLO Nos.1 and 4. The ability to write successful grant requests is an essential skill for information professionals, especially those working in public libraries. Public information institutions' regular funding sources (real estate taxes, tuition, or other funding from state or federal sources) often do not give the freedom to try new or innovative programs because the financial resources are not there.
